Explore the Region

To help you explore beyond the estate, we’ve pulled together some of our favourite local spots including walking trails, lakes, historic towns and cultural sites. You’ll also find our own curated hiking guide to help you experience the landscape at your own pace.

Nature & Land

Gaanha Bula / Mount Canobolas

Head up early for walking trails, cool air, and wide-open views across the region. It’s quiet, a little wild, and worth the early start.

Lake Canobolas

An easy go-to for paddle boarding, picnics, or a slow loop around the water. Stay a while and you’ll notice the details - birdlife, still water, the occasional echidna if you’re lucky.

Orange Botanic Gardens

A softer kind of exploring with winding paths, native plantings, and space to wander without a plan.

Culture & Food

Millthorpe

Best done slowly - a few shops, a long lunch, maybe a glass of wine by the fire.

Carcoar

One of the country’s oldest villages, where not much has changed, in the best way.

Molong

Small, local, and quietly full of character. Good for a potter about and a feel for the region.

Partners

At Borrodell, the guest experience is shaped not only by what we grow on the estate, but by the people and producers around us. We work with local makers, growers and artisans who share our commitment to quality, craft and community - from the products in your room to the food and wine you enjoy during your stay.

Yaye

Natural hair and body care by a women-owned Indigenous brand, thoughtfully selected for its quality, simplicity and connection to Country.

Bunji Organic Kombucha

A range of organic kombucha flavours offered as part of the guest beverage experience, supporting health-conscious and alternative drink preferences.

Mayfield’s Sparkling Water

Sparkling water originally founded in Orange and now revived in the region. Included as a nod to local provenance and regional pride.

The Shearers Wife Soap

Hand-cut soaps by a local Millthorpe maker, chosen for their thoughtful, small-batch craftsmanship and plastic-free approach.

Earth & Fire Studio

Handcrafted ceramic mugs by a Central West maker, glazed using ash from Borrodell’s vineyard cuttings to create a direct connection between the land and the guest experience.

Binjang Tea

Loose-leaf teas from a women-owned Indigenous brand, selected for their connection to Country and thoughtful approach to flavour and craft.

Kite Coffee

The Pinnacle Blend ground coffee supplied for espresso machines in Borrodell’s suites and cottages. A respected local café and roaster, reinforcing Borrodell’s support of regional businesses.

Follow along for wedding weekends, late pours at sunset, slow mornings in the suites, long lunches, and special events.
